Development

In line with MOL’s Blue Action 2035 strategy, we are expanding our non‑shipping businesses. In the region, we are making significant progress across logistics infrastructure, port development and other growth areas.

Logistics Infrastructure

MOL is expanding its logistics infrastructure investments across Southeast Asia and Oceania. In Singapore, we are participating in the development of a new automated cold storage warehouse in Jurong through a joint venture with Kajima Development, alongside an investment in Commonwealth Kokubu Logistics, Singapore’s largest food cold‑chain logistics operator.

Across Southeast Asia, we are partnering with leading developers to strengthen our logistics footprint. This includes collaborations with CapitaLand Investment to develop advanced logistics facilities across Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam. In addition, we have participated in the joint development of the ready-built warehouse Logicross Hai Phong with Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. in Hai Phong, Vietnam. In Australia, we are investing in an Australian logistics real estate fund managed by ESR and Hankyu Hanshin Properties Corp., comprising 11 sites and more than 40 logistics facilities.

TERMINALS

Joint Venture Ro-Ro Terminal Singapore

MOL and PSA Singapore has formed a joint-venture (JV) Ro-Ro (roll-on/roll-off) terminal in Singapore. This partnership will enable both MOL and PSA to work closer in achieving their objectives of long-term operational efficiencies in yard management, provide stable terminal storage capacity which is vital for vehicle transhipment and also support to customers when demand for storage space arises.

The strategic terminal location for transhipment enables MOL to build on their growing automobile transportation demand.

TERMINALS

Safe and Efficient Port Operations

We operate and invest in port terminals that enable safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible cargo handling. Our terminal business spans a range of cargo types, supporting vessels from arrival to departure with precision and reliability. Through advanced equipment, strict safety standards, and close collaboration with port authorities, we ensure smooth terminal operations that meet global requirements.

Bulk and Liquid Cargo Handling Facilities

Centralized logistics hubs that streamline storage, processing, & distribution between ports and inland markets.

Energy-Related Terminal Infrastructure

Terminal assets supporting energy supply chains, including LNG-related facilities, designed to ensure stable operations.

High-Efficiency Loading and Unloading Systems

Advanced equipment and operational systems that improve cargo handling speed and accuracy.

Safety, Compliance, and Environmental Management

Robust management frameworks that prioritize occupational safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental protection.

LNG INFRASTRUCTURE

FSRU Development

MOL has entered into a long-term time charter agreement with Singapore LNG Corporation (SLNG), Singapore’s state-owned LNG terminal operator, for the country’s first floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU). The newbuilding FSRU, currently under construction at Hanwha Ocean in South Korea, will be owned, managed, and operated by MOL.

Once delivered, the FSRU will be moored at Jurong Port, where it will receive, store, and regasify LNG before sending natural gas to shore. This FSRU will serve as Singapore’s second LNG receiving terminal, in addition to the existing onshore terminal on Jurong Island, which is owned and operated by SLNG. As a key energy infrastructure project, the FSRU will contribute to the stable supply of energy in Singapore, where natural gas accounts for approximately 95% of domestic power generation.

In addition to the SLNG FSRU Project, we are also exploring new opportunities to expand our FSRU business throughout the Southeast Asian region.

Additional Business Development Initiatives

Integrated Maritime Capabilities

Start Up (Innovation)

MOL Asia Oceania (MOLAO) has established a dedicated startup team in Singapore and also function in the capacity of MOL PLUS Singapore Desk (https://en.molplus.net/) to pursue strategic investment opportunities and foster collaboration with innovative companies.

The team identifies high potential partners, works closely with internal business units to accelerate collaboration, and actively engages the broader maritime and innovation ecosystem.

To date, MOLAO has formed strategic partnerships with local startups, including Pyxis and VFlowTech, to explore collaboration opportunities across MOL’s global network. In addition, MOLAO and MOL PLUS collaborate closely with PIER71 (established by MPA and NUS Enterprise) as innovation and investment partner for the Smart Port Challenge, and jointly organise the annual Night of Celebration networking event.

Green Fuel (Sustainability)

Aligned with MOL’s Blue Action 2035 initiatives and long term decarbonization goals, the Green Marine Fuel Business Team at MOL Asia Oceania works closely with MOL Headquarters, serving as the Group’s Singapore desk and taking the lead in advancing next generation fuel sourcing across Southeast Asia. The team partners with local authorities, fuel producers, fuel suppliers, technology providers, and other regional stakeholders, engaging in discussions and collaborations to advance the realization of alternative and low carbon fuel solutions. These efforts strengthen MOL’s ability to secure medium to long term access to next generation fuels and support the industry’s transition toward more sustainable, net zero shipping.
