On 8 September, a Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) delegation led by Chairman Takeshi Hashimoto and Executive Officer Sakura Kuma held a working session with the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority (HEZA), accompanied by local partner HTM Group, during a visit to Hai Phong City.
The meeting followed discussions with Hai Phong City leaders in August and reflected MOL’s continued interest in strengthening its engagement with the city while exploring opportunities for future investment and collaboration.
During the session, Chairman Hashimoto expressed appreciation to HEZA and the relevant authorities for their longstanding support of MOL’s business activities in Hai Phong. He noted the city’s strategic location and growing role as a regional hub for trade, logistics, and industrial development, underscoring its attractiveness as an investment destination.
On behalf of HEZA, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Dung, Vice Chairwoman, welcomed MOL & HTM delegation and expressed her appreciation for Group’s longstanding contributions to Vietnam and Hai Phong. She presented the city’s master planning and future development orientation and reaffirmed HEZA’s commitment to supporting MOL’s ongoing studies and assessments of potential projects in the city.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on long-term economic development and industrial growth. Chairman Hashimoto and Executive Officer Kuma reiterated MOL’s commitment to contributing to Hai Phong’s development through long-term investment, international expertise, and collaboration with local stakeholders.
Both parties shared the view that the meeting would further strengthen the cooperative relationship between Hai Phong City and MOL, creating new opportunities to advance logistics connectivity, energy infrastructure development, and broader Vietnam-Japan economic cooperation in the years ahead.
